Reporting pension premiums

In certain industries, there are agreements requiring the employer to pay supplementary pension premiums for the manual workers’ occupational pension, in addition to the standard premium for the Avtalspension SAF-LO, Collective Pension. It is also possible to make additional premium payments.

About supplementary pension premiums

Agreements on supplementary pension premiums are made between employer organizations and trade unions within various collective agreements, while the Avtalspension SAF-LO Collective pension is an agreement between LO - the Swedish Trade Union Confederation and Svenskt Näringsliv - The Confederation of Swedish Enterprise. Supplementary pension premiums are not part of the insurance agreement but are administered and invoiced by Fora.

Your company’s collective agreement states whether you are required to pay supplementary pension premiums for employees. How these premiums work varies between different industries and collective agreements, as does the cost. The supplementary pension premiums may be referred to as:

  • Part-time pension allocation (Deltidspensionsavsättning)
  • Extra pension allocation (Extra pensionsavsättning)
  • Working hours pension (Arbetstidspension, AP)
  • Lifetime working hours pension (Livsarbetstidspension, LP)

How to report premiums

By assigning all manual workers the marking (uppmärkning), Fora knows who is covered by a supplementary pension premium. The premiums for Part-time pension allocation and Extra pension allocation is calculated based on the monthly reported pay. This means no separate marking or reporting is required.

Working hours pension and Lifetime working hours pension are reported via Mina sidor (My pages) in e-services Arbetstidspension or Livsarbetstidspension.

Extra pension premiums

An extra pension premium means that the employer makes additional premium payments to the employee’s Avtalspension SAF-LO Collective Pension. Extra pension premiums are not tied to any collective agreement but are something the employer and employee agree on.

Extra pension premiums are reported via Mina sidor (My pages) in e-service Extra pensionspremier.

Supplementary pension premiums after age 65

Normally, payments to the Avtalspension SAF-LO Collective Pension stop when an employee turns 65. Those who continue working after the age of 65 can make an agreement with their employer for continued accrual of occupational pension. The agreement is made between the individual and the employer and takes effect from the month the individual turns 65.
